What have we been up to?
We attended the ESDN conference, where EESC member Cillian Lohan led a roundtable on the circular economy and the role of stakeholder engagement in reaching sustainability goals. On Wednesday, we participated in the public hearing on bioeconomy organised by the EESC, which aimed to enhance synergy between bioeconomy, circularity, and sustainability. These discussions will contribute to the upcoming opinion on circular economy and bioeconomy, with our CG member Agnieszka Sznyk (INNOWO) as advisor for rapporteur Cillian Lohan.
Today, 14 June, is the last day to apply for the CCRI call. The Circular Cities and Regions Initiative seeks experts to provide personalised support and mentorship to regions and cities advancing their circular transition.

This week, we received contributions on How to finance products as a service model, the BUILD UP webinar series on investors, developers and insurance providers, a New circular-inspired housing festival, a webinar on current development in food loss & waste reduction, a successful example of modular construction for a school, an initiative to help educators boost adult employability through circular economy, using circular practices and sustainable food practices to unlock youth entrepreneurial skills, grant call to reduce consumer food waste and a call for innovative circular business solutions. Next week, on Tuesday, ECESP will attend its first meeting as a member of the advisory board of the European Defence Agency’s Incubation Forum for Circular Economy in European Defence (IF CEED). This initiative collaborates closely with ECESP to promote more exchange between the civil circular economy community and the defence industry.
On Wednesday, EESC member Maria Nikolopoulou will take part in our Coordination Group member ACR+’s general assembly in Marseille.
