Re-think Taranto 2024 will explore macro-trends, possible evolutionary paths and key circular economy projects at local, national and international level.
There will be presentations by businesses, startups, research institutions and institutional players who are advancing and supporting circular projects.
The event will tackle three main topics:
- Energy transition and sustainable mobility: focus on new energy sources such as green hydrogen, biofuels, biogas, new technologies such as Carbon Capture and Storage, and impacts on energy infrastructure;
- Water management and the blue economy: focus on technologies and emerging trends for the sustainable management of water resources and taking a circular approach to improving the marine environment;
- Using materials and waste: focus on technologies and trends that optimise and use circular production processes, with an emphasis on opportunities offered by the local and international manufacturing industry.
There will also be parallel sessions:
- Towards a more sustainable economy: indicators and tools for measuring circularity and sustainability;
- The evolution of the Taranto Circular platform: new tools and new realities;
- Digitalisation and AI supporting the circular economy;
- The role of startups from the Mediterranean and Africa in the circular economy and in combating climate change;
- The circular economy and the textile and fashion industry: local examples for a sustainable Italian export industry;
- Circular startups in the fields of mobility, energy transition, water, blue economy, and waste and by-product valorisation.
Circular Bootcamp – Taranto will take place on 3 October, organised by Eni in collaboration with Tondo and featuring startups from Joule, Eni’s school for business, as well as local companies associated with Open-es and Confindustria. It’s a chance for businesses and startups to talk.
Eni is the main event partner, together with Confindustria Taranto, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Italy and GAL.
Re-think Taranto 2024 will take place in-person and online on 2-4 October, at Relais Histò San Pietro sul Mar Piccolo on the first day, and at the old “Baraccamenti Cattolica” site on the following days. It will be in Italian. Registration.
