Are you interested in seeing how the circular bioeconomy can drive the development of sustainable agri-food systems across rural and urban areas in the EU?

The Sustainable Development Observatory and the Permanent Group on Sustainable Food Systems will explore innovative approaches supporting the balanced development of rural and urban communities.

The webinar will look at how the circular bioeconomy can:

  • revitalise rural areas,
  • boost economic opportunities, and
  • foster partnerships that strengthen rural-urban synergies.

This event will bring together a wide range of stakeholders, including policy makers, civil society organisations and practitioners. They will discuss:

  • how the circular bioeconomy can address pressing challenges such as rural depopulation, forms of economic inequality and climate change,
  • how governance and partnerships can leverage the development of innovative approaches in rural areas.

The discussions are part of the 6th Rural Pact debate organised by the European Economic and Social Committee, reflecting its strong commitment to a balanced and sustainable approach to rural and urban development in the EU.

You can follow the event live in English, French and Italian via webstreamingNo registration required. Participants will be able to interact by means of Slido, using the code #RuralBioLoop.

The webinar will take place on 15 October at 10:00-13:00 CEST.
