ASEIC (ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Center) promotes eco-innovation among SMEs in Asia and Europe. It was officially recognised at the 8th ASEM Summit and is based in Seoul, funded by the Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups. ASEM is the Asia-Europe Meeting, an intergovernmental process fostering dialogue and cooperation between Asia and Europe. It currently comprises 30 European and 21 Asian countries, the European Union and the ASEAN Secretariat.
ASEIC will be hosting the Global Eco-Innovation Forum under the heading Global Supply Chains and Climate Change Response for SMEs in ASEM.
The forum is a unique opportunity to explore the latest strategies enabling SMEs to respond to climate change and adapt to global supply chain regulations. It will provide insights into supply chain regulations and climate change responses for SMEs and startups.
Speakers include:
- Freek van Eijk, Co-chair of the ECESP Coordination Group and CEO of Holland Circular Hotspot. He will deliver a keynote speech on “Circular Economy: The Key to Climate Change Response and Supply Chain Innovation for SMEs in the ASEM Region”.
- Arthur ten Wolde, ECESP Coordination Group member and executive Director of Ecopreneur.eu. He will present an overview of EU policies connected to the European Green Deal, their relevance for SMEs, related EU policies announced for the next five years, examples of sustainable SME frontrunners, and what is urgently needed for SMEs to mainstream sustainable business in the EU.
- Vesna Lavtizar, co-founder of the Circular Economy Coalition and Special Envoy of Holland Circular Hotspot. She will give a presentation on “Case study of Global Supply Chains and Climate Change – Response by SMEs and Startups”.
Participants will gain insights from international experts on sustainable growth practices, network with key industry leaders in the ASEM region, and engage in crucial discussions shaping the future of eco-innovation. Officials, experts and companies related to the topics from Asia and Europe will also be in attendance, providing valuable networking opportunities.
The event is held in conjunction with the Technology Management Innovation Expo, the largest event addressing technology and management innovation for SMEs.
The forum will take place on 14-15 November in Ulsan. It will be in hybrid format and in English and Korean.
