The Energy from Waste Conference 2025 will focus on decarbonising waste to energy, optimising resources – the essential business opportunity for the global waste-to-energy industry.

Participants will be able to explore critical issues, take part in discussion sessions and learn about emerging trends and directions. They can meet with operators, project developers, investors, technology providers, waste authorities and government representatives and explore the role of waste to energy in circular economy development and the net zero transition. There will also be plenty of opportunities for networking!

The audience will comprise people from waste management, waste to energy, project development, finance and investment, engineering, plant build and delivery, consultancy and advisory, central and local government, suppliers, specialists and technical experts.

The conference will look at:

  • Emissions Trading Schemes in the UK and EU – implications, costs and impact on operators and local government
  • Policy developments across waste and resources, and what it means for feedstock volumes, composition and fleet capacity
  • Decarbonisation through plastics removal and CCS
  • CCS business models: the role of carbon removals
  • Heat network development: time for increased take-up in the UK?
  • Ageing plants and plants “in the wrong place” – what does the future hold for these assets and how should they be managed and contracted?
  • Growth markets: important opportunities for business development
  • RDF, trade, flows and specialist fuels – what are the shifts in the market?
  • The future of waste: composition, competition, capacity and how this will affect waste to energy
