The European Roundtable on Sustainable Consumption and Production (ERSCP) is a series of conferences which began in 1994 and brings together experts from academia, the private sector and public administration to discuss sustainable consumption and production issues in a wide range of areas. It facilitates the effective exchange of knowledge and experience, and fosters the emergence and development of new ideas and initiatives – all in close cooperation between business and research.
ERSCP 2025 will focus on Multi-stakeholder cooperation on sustainability: Role of business, academia, public sector and civil society in Sustainable Consumption and Production.
The key conference tracks include:
- Sustainable and circular business models in industry
- Circular economy and sustainable use of resources
- Sustainable consumption and lifestyles for a circular society
- Resilient cities and regions
- ESG and financing sustainability
- Policies for sustainable consumption and production and a circular society
- Education and learning for sustainable consumption and production and a circular society.
The organisers have opened a Call for Abstracts, with a deadline of 15 February. They encourage submissions (to be in English) that offer innovative perspectives, and researchers, scholars and practitioners (such as business representatives, policy makers, activists and NGO representatives) are urged to join the conference and present and discuss their innovative ideas, practices, experiences and methods. The conference will be an opportunity for discussion and reflection on the links and gaps between theory and practice. The goal is to connect research and action for sustainable consumption and production with strategies for transformative change.
ERSCP 2025 is organised by EMPRESS (an NGO focusing on sustainable consumption and production) in cooperation with the Czech University of Life Sciences and the ERSCP Society. It will take place at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague on 15 – 18 September. It will be in English, and people can attend in person or online.
