The European Bioeconomy Clusters’ Alliance is a new strategic initiative uniting 12 national and regional bioeconomy clusters across Europe. Its mission is to amplify the voice of the bioeconomy sector, drive policy advocacy for a circular and sustainable economy, and enhance cross-sector collaboration.

The launch event will bring together key representatives from the European Commission, industry leaders and bioeconomy sector stakeholders, including:

  • Astrid Ladefoged, Head of the Green Transitions Unit at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research & Innovation (DG R&I)
  • Dirk Carrez, Director, Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC)
  • Other high-level experts from leading European bioeconomy initiatives (see event page for details).

The event will include discussions on the role of the circular bioeconomy in the EU Green Deal, the Clean Industrial Deal and the importance of bioeconomy clusters in fostering innovation. The Memorandum of Understanding will be signed by the members, officially launching the Alliance.

The event is intended for policy makers and EU institutions, bioeconomy industry leaders and innovators, circular economy stakeholders, research institutions and academia, and SMEs and startups in sustainable industries.

This event will take place in-person and in English at 13:00 on 10 February at Marie-Elisabeth Belpairegebouw, Simon Bolivarlaan 17, 1000 Brussels. Provisional agenda.
