Global Green Action Day is an international initiative dedicated to tackling plastic pollution through collaboration, innovation and action.

Held in support of UN World Environment Day on 5 June, this initiative has three parts: first you learn online, then you get together on 5 June to apply what you have learned to create real-world solutions, then you follow through by staying connected in our change-maker community to turn ideas into lasting impact.

  1. Warm-up sessions: these are open and free and intended to inspire you and showcase the training
  2. The training programme: this takes 7.5 hours and begins on 21 April. It equips participants with practical tools and expert insights into sustainability-driven innovation, covering regulation, the circular economy and AI. There are three compulsory e-learning modules:
  • Innovation & regulation – how policy and business strategy drive sustainability.
  • Decarbonisation & circular economy – practical approaches to reducing emissions and waste.
  • AI for sustainability – the role of AI in accelerating solutions.

   3. Once you have completed the training modules you will be given access to Green Global Action Day on 5 June in Lisbon, Vienna, Stockholm and online. This takes another 4 hours, with accelerator sessions on various topics including circular strategies in action.

The event is intended for anyone working in the world of sustainability and innovation: policy makers, experts from academia, NGOs, consultants, community leaders and thought-leaders looking to take action on circular economy and plastic reduction.

Organisations can also contribute by providing a challenge, allowing expert teams to develop creative solutions.
