RE-PLAN CITY LIFE (RElevant Audience Plan Leading to Awareness Network for CIrcular Economy Use of Recycled TYre materials in CITY LIFE) is a LIFE project running from 1 January 2022 to 30 June 2025. It aims to raise awareness about the use of recycled tyre materials, promote environmentally-friendly behaviour in urban communities, stimulate the adoption of circular economy best practices and create opportunities for cooperation and implementation through new projects.

The project focuses on providing information about models and experiences that can be replicated elsewhere with a view to improving transport infrastructure, the concrete and building sector (concrete reinforced with steel fibres for industrial flooring and roads, rubber sheets and layers for noise reduction and recycled fibre textile panels for insulation), urban and street furniture, sports and leisure products and applications.

They are organising a live workshop with an on-site visit on the use of recycled materials in public works. This workshop will describe the tools put in place by the project to stimulate stronger engagement from  public authorities to adopt best practices and green procurement.

The workshop is free and open to anyone interested. It will provide a unique opportunity for discussion and interaction with relevant stakeholders.

The aim is to provide a lively forum in order to:

  • analyse the obstacles identified
  • present the tools that are being designed to overcome these obstacles
  • propose and discuss suitable strategies for engaging public authorities
  • identify possible synergies among EU projects and programmes and enhance cooperation
  • lay the groundwork for new projects.

It will take place on 20 November from 10:30 to 18:30 CET in Barcelona, Spain. The presentation will be in English and the round table discussion in English and Spanish. It will be in person only.
