The INTERREG NWE ECHT project (Enable Digital Product Passports with Chemicals Traceability for a Circular Economy) focuses on the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation and the implementation of the Digital Product Passport. Both of these pieces of legislation will require detailed information on products, including material composition. The traceability of chemicals in materials is therefore a key enabler of the circular economy and this project aims to build the capacity of actors in the textile apparel value chain in this area.

The project has organised a series of three workshops. Stakeholders from the various textile value chains (such as producers of fabrics and dyes, brands, retailers and recyclers) will receive input from academia, NGOs and industry illustrating knowledge and best practices from various sectors. In the first two co-creative working sessions, participants generated further insights and knowledge on how to overcome barriers to traceability.

This third and final workshop will draw on the insights generated in the first two and enable participants to experience the challenges and strategies of implementing traceability first-hand. In a simulation game, they will take on the role of a stakeholder in the textile value chain and play out strategies, negotiations and business cases for traceability. The insights and knowledge gained from this game will be collected and shared at the end of the workshop series.

This event will take place in English and in person (Paris) or online at 08:30 – 17:00 CEST on 18 June. Registration and programme.
