Hazards Out! is an initiative of the European Waste Management Association, FEAD in partnership with ACR+ and Hazardous Waste Europe facilitated by NOWMORE, to raise awareness about the mandatory separate collection of household hazardous waste (HHW) and support local authorities and other relevant stakeholders with establishing effective HHW management strategies.

The initiative is organising a series of online workshops. The third Hazards Out! episode will explore the industrial perspective and the role of Extended Producer Responsibility schemes in the separate collection and treatment of HHW.

With more than half of HHW being paints, this episode will focus on innovative recycling initiatives in the paint sector, with speakers who are driving the circular efforts of the paint industry and ensuring the proper collection and processing of paint and hazardous waste. The founder and managing director of the French PRO will speak about implementing legislative Extended Producer Responsibility obligations for the collection, processing and material recovery from the household and construction chemical product sector in France.

As usual, participants are invited to contribute to the discussion by asking questions and sharing challenges, experiences and efforts to improve the separate collection of HHW at local, regional, national or European level.

Registration and programme. This event will take place in English and online at 11:00 CEST on 24 September.
