Ireland’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) leads the country’s Circular Economy Programme which is the driving force for Ireland’s move to a circular economy. Its goal is an Ireland where the circular economy ensures that everyone uses less resources and prevents waste to achieve sustainable economic growth. As part of this programme, the EPA hosts an annual Circular Economy Conference to discuss priority topics and highlight the opportunities and challenges in transitioning to a circular economy in Ireland.

The conference will bring together policymakers, regulators, enterprises, researchers, NGOs, practitioners and others who are implementing or promoting the circular economy to exchange information and knowledge.

The conference agenda will focus on topical areas, such as the forthcoming EU Circular Economy Act, making circular models more competitive and extended producer responsibility in priority sectors. Through ‘Local Circular Solutions’ presentations, enterprises will showcase their circular business models. There will be presentations, case studies and interactive discussion panels, along with networking opportunities and an exhibition area.

There is a great line-up of speakers, including Alan Dillon, Minister of State at the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment with special responsibility for the Circular Economy, Dr Florian Flachenecker, Taskforce Leader on the Circular Economy Act at the European Commission, and David Fitzsimons, Director of the European Remanufacturing Council and a member of the ECESP’s Coordination Group.

This in-person event will take place at 09:30-15:30 (UCT+1) on Wednesday, 24 September in the Aviva Stadium, Dublin. Registration and programme.
