Part of the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI), the InvestCEC project aims to bridge the gap between local action and EU-wide ambition, offering investment readiness support and raising a fund to enable public/private partnerships around the pilot city of Klagenfurt, Austria.

InvestCEC was tested in the city of Klagenfurt and will now host its final event to showcase its experience and main achievements in developing a replicable model to initiate circular economy projects in regions and cities.

The final event aims to bring EU and local policymakers, investors and companies together to discuss how to foster the circular economy in regions and cities. Particular focus will be placed on how to scale up investments in circular initiatives and how local/EU policies can help promote green public procurement and public-private partnerships.

Highlights:

  • The presentation of InvestCEC methodology, policy recommendations, lessons learned and next steps
  • An insightful panel session with Sandro Gozi (Member of the European Parliament), René Cerne (Klagenfurt City Council Member), Kathrina Rieger (Austria Regional Manager, Concular GmbH) and other experts
  • Future replication opportunities (TBC).

This event will take place at 14:30 -16:30 CEST on 14 October. It will be held in person at the European Parliament (Altiero Spinelli Building), Brussels and online. Given the limited seats available, in-person participation is subject to approval from the organisers.

Draft programme and registration (deadline: 3 October).
