Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) ‑ known as the Global Goals ‑, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 in their 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Agenda is a roadmap for the future – the global community wants to enable a dignified life worldwide while at the same time permanently preserving the natural foundations of life.
The 17 SDGs cover a wide range of issues – they are integrated and recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability.
